most of the time words are enough.
there’s enough of them to say what we need to say
and enough to understand what needed to be understood.
but there are a few instances in life when words no longer suffice,
when emotions surpass verbal understanding.
the english language gave us three words,
one short phrase,
to communicate what even a lifetime often cannot express.
I love you.
Don’t waste it on people who don’t matter.
When songs pause in their path from my mind to my lips and the sound no longer escapes from me,
When the notebook paper is blank and my pen rests heavily beside these lines unfilled by poems,
When the stories stop coming from my heart through my soul and heart and onto its canvas,
That’s when you’ll know that I lost the only part of me that was worth singing and writing about.
